Marshall Islands

Just got back from dropping the team off in the Marshall Islands. We had a great reception when we landed in Majuro and it looks like this summer is going to be insane. Check out the new photos from the trip by clicking on RevHi pics to the right.

After a few days of settling in and getting to know the Rita locals we spent Sunday in worship. The morning service at Rita was packed out with nearly 3oo in attendance. Emily gave her testimony and as it was fathers day she fittingly spoke about the love she has for both her eathly and heavenly father. After a pot-luck lunch and a short nap we jumped in the truck and made the 30 mile, hour long drive to the Laura Corps (church) at the other end of the island. We were greeted warmly and treated to another wonderful service.

Adam flew off to the Jaluit atoll on Monday. Once he landed on the island of Jabor the plan was for him to get in a boat and head off to the remote island of Narmij where he will help the islanders build an 8 person outrigger canoe. Gas is close to $7 a gallon on the outer atolls so motor boats are no longer practical. An outrigger will enable the people to travel cheaply for much needed supplies at nearby and far away islands. Adam will also be helping fix the corps (church) roof on the island of Arno with a team that is heading out from Honolulu in mid July. He was excited and nervous when we put him on the plane but his faith is strong. I cant wait to hear the stories he is going to bring back from this adventure.

We tried to get to the Island of Arno on Friday to check out where Emily and Lindsey are going to be living for the summer. Once our small boat reached the pass in the reef and we had a look at the open ocean, our captain wisely turned back as the waves were crashing and the sea much too rough to make the 2 hour boat ride from Majuro. Monday was the girls scheduled departure time but the ocean was not much better. These conditions continued through Tuesday and the girls were really getting frustrated. Finally on Wednesday the weather cleared and the boat safely made the journey. Major Randy escorted Emily and Lindsey to their new home where they were treated to a fried fish lunch upon arrival. Like Adam, they also were excited for the summer and ready to see what God has planned.

Please keep these three in your daily prayers as they build relationships and spread the Good News!
