Believe!

Here in the islands we are crazy about University of Hawaii football, regardless of how good or bad the team is playing. And believe me, there have been some pretty bad years. Which is why this 2007 season has been one for the ages. As the only undefeated college program in the country with a record setting QB (who came in 3rd in the Heisman voting) and a first ever BC bowl appearance, the 50th state has been riding a wave of sheer ecstasy. And that wave keeps building towards the final showdown with powerhouse Georgia in the Sugar Bowl New Years day. I can't wait!

What has been especially cool is the motto that has arisen during this miraculous year.
"Believe!"
Written big and bold, it is held high throughout the stands at every game, home or away. It is emblazoned on T-shirts and plastered on the front page of the newspapers after big wins. It is more than a motto, it has become a rallying cry! And the good news is that it reaches deeper than you might think.

Check out the links below for yet another great reason to root for University of Hawaii Warriors football New Years day! (As if you needed any more reasons!)

wow. awesome article. Makes me wonder about the all blacks rugby team. I think NZers have been lulled into a false sense of security in the identity of the all blacks as "the favourites". There was a huge wave of grief, loss and disbelief when we were out of the world cup at the quarter final stage. All that we had prided ourselves on as a nation came crumbling down around us. Our nation is struggling to rebuild belief in our national sports teams and even more so in Jesus. If only we could have a motto as simple yet significant as "believe" Blessings, thanks for the post
