Basic Survival human trafficking HIV and AIDS Women's Literacy & Empowerment Project Community Health Care

In this world, there are many things that are just wrong.

Sexual trafficking, slavery, starvation, addiction, iliteracy. But we can help, we can make a difference when we all work together. If you want to learn of more ways you can help, here and abroad please contact us or your local Salvation Army.

The youth of the Salvation Army have dedicated a CD to help bring awareness of the Social injustices in the world today with the desire that the message of the music will spur us all on to action.

Together we can make a difference. 100% of all donations for the CD will be used by the Salvation Army to help others. When you get this CD you will love the music as well as help in the fight against social injustice.

Without water, people die. Nearly 1.1 billion people in developing countries currently lack access to adequate drinking water and basic sanitation services. Over 6,000 people per day—mostly children—die from waterborne diseases.

Slavery still exists. Millions of people around the world are exploited and abused through human trafficking, the world’s third largest organized crime ring, second only to weapons and drugs. Humans – nearly one-third of them children – are being sold for sex and forced labor. The Salvation Army is very present in the fight to combat human trafficking.

HIV/AIDS has been called a scourge, a plague, and this century’s leprosy. How big is the problem? Sixty-five million people have been infected with HIV. Forty million people are still living with HIV/AIDS while 25 million people have died from it. It is the leading cause of death in sub-Saharan Africa. Every day it kills 8,500 people and infects 14,000 others.

Many women around the world find themselves alone, without emotional or financial support. WORTH groups give women a place of support, including teaching them good business practices and the importance of saving money.

Each year more the 10 million children under the age of 5 die – most from preventable childhood illnesses. The Salvation Army is doing something about this.
